This speech his central theme Marrano origin and then as today's significance of his banishment from the synagogue and to show the basis of the Theological-political treatise Biblical criticism developed his own position, which was ahead of his time. Spinoza's attack on the Bible, his ideas on natural law and social contract as well as his defense of religious tolerance and intellectual freedom make him an early pioneer of enlightened, liberal political philosophy. Is it not inevitable that Spinoza must draft of a free individual in a spiritually and religiously free society, the religion of the Jewish victims of this idea?
