Let the dead bury their dead

"Let the dead bury their dead, but after you follow me" (Mt 8,22 / Lk 9:60). Thus Jesus' call is at the request of a successor willing, Jesus might allow him to bury his father first. After all, a sacred obligation for a Jewish son! Jesuanic life, however, I prefer this formulation to the traditional "follow Jesus" before directed, looking forward, not back. Jesuanic life is a commitment to the future. "Who has put his hand to the plow and looking back, is not suitable for the kingdom of God" (Lk 9:62).

There are no moral demands placed here. It will come not with the rules of piety feet. This is simply the law of life itself to the point and it is warned of the pitfalls that we can prevent the progression. Alleged loyalty, in good faith can sustain us to hold on in the past and choke the life. Not persist in your misery, because you believe your luck is a betrayal of your unhappy mother! Did not preclude from time to time because you fear, your success would mean disloyalty towards your unsuccessful father. Let the dead bury their dead and say goodbye in respect for your parents and live your life!

This is a fundamental law Jesuanic life: the past respectfully behind them and concentrate on what lies ahead. The kingdom of God is not found in yesterday. It will be taken in the present, so that it can develop in the future. The kingdom of God is nothing other than the vitality of the divine, which pulses through all being. It is also the hopeful recklessness and foolishness of God, given the ridiculous earnestness of alleged needs and constraints of yesterday. Now is the time of salvation.
